This project

I’ll post pictures of postcards and engravings from my own collection on my tumblr.

I dearly adore all those vintage things. Aside the retro and lovely look of those pictures, I woud like to make my small contribution to gender and fashion history, mainly by posting here a part of my archives on beauty pageants.
Going further than what only seems to be cute and getting to see the schemes of compulsory heterosexuality and the injonctions to an impossible femininity (always impossible), it’s a step towards a feminist revolution in a way, isn’t it?

Pictures will always be posted with a low resolution as I own the material (although not the rights on the pictures themselves obviously) and I don’t want a good version to be spread anywhere. However, when kindly asked, I may make exceptions to this rule :-)
